Cardiology Nurse Practitioner needed within the Pocatello, ID area
We are currently seeking a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner to join a fast-growing family. Assess, plan, and treat patients in coordination with the patient, family, and clinical team within the clinic and/or inpatient settings.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Conducting patient assessments, including obtaining medical histories and performing physical examinations.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, such as electrocardiograms (EKGs) and echocardiograms.
• Developing and implementing treatment plans for patients with cardiovascular conditions, including prescribing medications and recommending lifestyle changes.
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as cardiologists, nurses, and pharmacists, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
• Educating patients and their families about cardiovascular health, disease prevention, and treatment options.
• Monitoring patients' progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Providing counseling and support to patients and their families coping with cardiovascular diseases.
• Participating in research studies and staying updated on advancements in cardiology practice.
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining accurate medical records.
Required Qualifications:
• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a specialization in cardiology or adult-gerontology acute care.
• Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with a specialization in cardiology or adult-gerontology acute care is usually required.
• Certification as a Cardiac Nurse Practitioner (ACNPC-AG) or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP) from a recognized certifying body such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN).
• Previous experience working as a registered nurse in cardiology or a related specialty is often required.
