Family Practice, Internal Medicine

• The licensed physician performs services in the practice of medicine, specific to the Hospitalist Program. The primary responsibility is to provide clinical services in the delivery of health care to patients while hospitalized. The physician will also perform administrative duties related to the practice of medicine.
• Registered and unrestricted as MD or DO Texas medical license; appropriate certification under applicable professional board; CME as required by the Texas Medical Board
• Applicable Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
• 7p-7a
• Rounds on an average of 13 patients a day, including ICU patients (hospital does not admit pediatrics)
• Responds to codes along with support team.
• No procedures.
• Must have 3 years experience
• Shift numbers per month will vary
• The physician will diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions and emphasize health promotion and disease prevention. Their services include, but are not limited to: ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic and laboratory tests; prescribing pharmacologic agents and non-pharmacologic therapies; and teaching and counseling. They may practice in collaboration with other health care professionals to manage patients’ health needs.
