Job description

Aya Locums is seeking an OB Hospitalist physician for a locum tenens assignment at an acute care hospital in northwest Washington. This is a shift-based role with no call, ideal for providers who prefer predictable schedules and focused inpatient work.

The OB Hospitalist will provide coverage for rounding, admissions, and OB ED support, caring for adult women in a collaborative environment. While the hospitalist will be the primary OB provider on the unit during shifts, clinic-based OB/GYNs are available and present around the unit for support as needed.

SCHEDULE & COVERAGE
Shifts: 12-hour shifts (7:00am–7:00pm and 7:00pm–7:00am)
Coverage Needed: Combination of day and night shifts
Volume: ~8 shifts per month (Will to schedule shifts close together for travel))
Assignment Length: 6 months to start with possibility of extending
Target Start Date: 5/1/2026 (earliest availability 4/1/2026)

PATIENT & PRACTICE DETAILS
Beds: 13
Average Daily Census: ~10 patients
Patient Population: Adult women
Setting: Inpatient unit and OB Emergency Department
Required Procedures: C-sections
Trauma Level: Adult II–IV
EMR: Epic (experience required)

COMPENSATION
Hourly Rate: $175–$185/hour

REQUIREMENTS
MD/DO, OB Hospitalist
Active Washington medical license preferred
(IMLC accepted; willingness to license considered)
DEA (required)
BLS & ACLS (required)
Minimum 1 year of experience
Recent OB/GYN clinical activity within the past 24 months
(waived for providers completing training within the past year)
Epic EMR experience

  • No Call Required – Pure shift-based coverage with 12-hour day and night shifts only.
  • Flexible Scheduling for Travelers – About 8 shifts per month, with efforts to cluster shifts together.
  • Focused OB Hospitalist Role – Inpatient coverage and OB ED support with manageable volume.
