Medical Director (MD/DO) – Locum Opportunity | Harlingen, TX

We are currently seeking an experienced Medical Director (MD/DO) for a 3+ month locum assignment in Harlingen, Texas. This is an excellent leadership opportunity to oversee a multidisciplinary medical team while delivering high-quality healthcare services in a state-operated healthcare facility.

Position Details

Duration: 3+ Months (Possible Extension)
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Up to $196/hour
Onsite Position - Compensation: Competitive hourly rates available, up to $196/hour (based on employment type and qualifications).

Key Responsibilities
Provide overall clinical leadership for the medical department.
Supervise Physicians, Nurse Practitioners (APRNs), Physician Assistants, Psychiatrists, Dentists, Pharmacists, and other medical professionals.
Serve as the primary care physician for an assigned patient population.
Evaluate and manage patients with complex medical, psychiatric, and behavioral health needs.
Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and quality improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with state regulations, healthcare standards, and organizational policies.
Develop on-call schedules and participate in leadership meetings.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications
MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
Active Texas Medical License.
Current DEA Registration.
Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
Eligible Medicare and Medicaid Provider.
Previous Medical Director or physician leadership experience preferred.
Excellent clinical, leadership, and communication skills.
