Opportunity

Internal Medicine – Medical Director

  • Full-time, employed position

  • Hybrid schedule with required on-site patient visits at least monthly

  • Monday through Friday, 8-hour workdays

  • No weekends

  • HPSA Score: 16

The Medical Director will provide clinical leadership for the primary care service line while overseeing quality of care, regulatory compliance, and program development initiatives. As a key member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, the Medical Director will support strategic planning, program growth, and clinical excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive internal medicine and primary care services to adult patients

  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight for the primary care program

  • Supervise and collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and other clinical staff

  • Develop and support clinical policies, protocols, and best practices

  • Monitor quality improvement initiatives and patient care outcomes

  • Assist with program development and organizational growth

  • Participate in leadership and administrative activities

  • Collaborate with behavioral health and other multidisciplinary teams

  • Promote patient-centered, evidence-based care

  • Support compliance with applicable healthcare regulations and organizational standards

Requirements
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine

  • Active or eligible for New York medical licensure

  • Active DEA registration or ability to obtain

  • Minimum of five years of internal medicine or primary care experience preferred

  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred

  • Experience working in an outpatient primary care setting

  • Proficiency with electronic health records and standard office software

  • Successful completion of background check and Medicaid exclusion screening
