# Pre-Anesthesia Testing APP – Locum Tenens Opportunity
## ⚡ THE HIGHLIGHTS

## 🩺 JOB OVERVIEW
An excellent locum tenens opportunity is available for a qualified **Advanced Practice Provider (APP)** with experience in a pre-operative or pre-anesthesia setting. The provider will support the surgical and anesthesia teams by completing pre-operative evaluations, reviewing patient information, and helping optimize patients for upcoming surgical procedures.
This position offers a consistent weekday schedule with **no call and no weekend requirements**.
## 📅 SCHEDULE
* Monday through Friday
* 7:30 AM–3:30 PM
* First patient scheduled at 8:00 AM
* Last patient scheduled at 3:00 PM
* No call
* No weekends
## 👥 PATIENT VOLUME
* Approximately **8–9 patients per day**
* Outpatient pre-operative visits
* Patients are evaluated in preparation for upcoming procedures and are not scheduled for surgery on the same day
## 🏥 CLINICAL SETTING
This role is based in an ambulatory, office-type environment focused on comprehensive pre-operative assessment and care coordination.
Primary duties include:
* Patient assessment
* Chart review
* Data collection
* Clinical optimization
* Coordination of referrals and follow-up care
**No procedure-based skills are required for this role.**
## 🩺 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Conduct pre-operative evaluations and assessments for patients scheduled for surgery
* Review patient histories, physical examinations, and relevant clinical information
* Identify opportunities for medical optimization before surgery
* Utilize established pre-operative optimization protocols and resources
* Perform thorough chart reviews and collect relevant clinical data
* Identify clinical concerns and coordinate appropriate referrals when necessary
* Collaborate closely with the Surgery and Anesthesia teams
* Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic

## ✅ QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
* **Active, unrestricted New York license required**
* **Board Certification required**
* Active **BLS certification**
* AHA or RQI certifications accepted, as applicable
* Prior APP experience appropriate for a pre-operative or pre-anesthesia setting
* **Epic experience required**
* Strong clinical assessment and chart-review skills
* Excellent communication and care-coordination abilities
* Candidates must be available for the full-time weekday schedule
### Additional Candidate Requirements
* Current and complete work history
* No unexplained employment gaps of 30 days or more
* If there is any history of malpractice, a detailed physician/provider statement may be required, regardless of the outcome
* Residents and fellows will not be considered
