Job description

Aya Locums is seeking an Anesthesiologist to provide scheduled daytime OR and endoscopy coverage, along with overnight and 24-hour call coverage, at a hospital in Arizona. This assignment offers a diverse clinical experience, consistent CRNA support, and the opportunity to care for patients of all ages in a collaborative hospital setting.

Assignment Details
• Start Date: September 2026
• Coverage Type: Scheduled shifts and on-call coverage required
• Schedule: 6:45 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., with night call from 3:00 p.m. – 6:45 a.m.
• Shift Schedule: Standard 5-day shifts, 8 hours per day
• Shift Details: Daytime OR and endoscopy coverage, scheduled night call, and 24-hour call shifts
• Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 2 weeks

Work Details
• Specialty: Anesthesiology
• Patient Volume: Approximately 4–8 patients per day
• Patient Population: All ages
• Support Staff: CRNAs and nurses; the locums anesthesiologist will always have CRNA support
• EMR: Cerner
• Hospital Size: 87 beds
• Practice Volume: Approximately 3,000 OR cases, 3,000 endoscopy cases, and 500 OB deliveries annually
• Common Cases: Geriatric fractures, urology, general surgery excluding bariatrics, advanced breast cancer surgery, total joint procedures, and endoscopy procedures under propofol infusion
• Special Procedures: OB anesthesia and endoscopy under propofol infusion

Practice Setting
• Hospital-based practice
• Daytime OR and endoscopy coverage
• Scheduled overnight and 24-hour call coverage

Requirements
• Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
• License: Arizona license or IMLC Letter of Qualification required for presentation
• DEA: Required
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
• Minimum Experience: Current OB anesthesia experience required
• Clinical Expectations: Physician must be comfortable covering OB, the OR, and endoscopy during nights and weekends. CRNA support is always available.
