# Anesthesiologist – Locum Tenens Opportunity

## 🏥 JOB OVERVIEW
A rural critical-access hospital is seeking a qualified **Anesthesiologist** for an urgent locum tenens assignment. The physician will provide comprehensive anesthesia services across inpatient and surgical settings, including obstetrics and epidural anesthesia.
This opportunity is ideal for an anesthesiologist who is comfortable working in a rural environment and managing a broad range of anesthesia cases with a high degree of clinical independence.
## 📅 SCHEDULE
**Regular Schedule:**
* Monday–Friday
* 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
* 8-hour shifts
**Call:**
* Weekday call: 3:00 PM–7:00 AM
* Weekend call: Friday at 7:00 AM through Monday at 7:00 AM
* Holiday call may be required
* Specific call dates vary by coverage need
### Current Coverage Needs
* **October 19–23, 2026:** Day shifts; no weekday call
* **November 2026:** Select weekday and weekend call coverage
* **December 2026:** Select weekday call coverage
* **December 21–30, 2026:** Urgent holiday coverage, including December 24–27
* Ongoing coverage may be available based on facility needs
## 🩺 CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Anesthesiologist will be responsible for:
* Providing general anesthesia services
* Managing inpatient anesthesia cases
* Providing obstetric anesthesia
* Performing and managing epidurals
* Evaluating patients pre-operatively
* Providing intraoperative anesthesia management
* Providing post-anesthesia care as appropriate
* Scheduling surgical procedures
* Collaborating with surgeons, CRNAs, nursing staff, and other clinical personnel
* Providing CRNA supervision when applicable
* Responding to anesthesia-related emergencies
* Performing other anesthesia-related duties as assigned

## ✅ REQUIREMENTS
* **Board Certified in Anesthesiology preferred**
* ** Board-eligible candidates may be considered**
* **Active New York medical license in hand – Required**
* **BLS certification – Required**
* **ACLS certification – Required**
* **PALS certification – Required**
* **AHA or RQI certifications accepted, as applicable**
* **Epic experience – Required**
* Must be comfortable working in a rural, critical-access environment
* Must be able to provide general anesthesia, obstetric anesthesia, epidurals, and other required anesthesia services
* Residents and fellows will not be considered
