Job description
We are seeking a Locum Tenens Physician in Potsdam, NY.
Shift:
Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
Weekday call: 3:00 PM–7:00 AM
Weekend call: Friday 7:00 AM–Monday 7:00 AM
Scheduled + on-call coverage required
Emergency privileges available
6-month assignment with ongoing coverage as needed
Start Date: October 19, 2026
End Date: Approximately 6 months; ongoing as needed
Position Details:
Patient Population: Adult patients; approximately 10–15 patients

Inpatient hospital
Obstetrics
Surgical services
Rural, critical-access setting
Responsibilities:
General anesthesia
Inpatient anesthesia coverage
Obstetric anesthesia
Epidurals
Surgical case coverage
Schedule surgeries
CRNA supervision as needed
Weekday and weekend call coverage
Other anesthesia duties as assigned
Required Procedures:
General anesthesia
Obstetric anesthesia
Epidurals
EMR System: EPIC
Support Staff: CRNA support/supervision as applicable
Days Per Month: Monday–Friday daytime coverage with scheduled weekday and weekend call
On-Call/Weekends:
Weekday call: 3:00 PM–7:00 AM
Weekend call: Friday 7:00 AM–Monday 7:00 AM
Holiday call may be required
Provider must be comfortable working in a rural critical-access setting
Requirements:
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
Active New York medical license in hand
BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
AHA or RQI certifications
EPIC experience required
Specific Coverage Dates Provided:
October 19–23, 2026: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM; no weekday call
November 5–13, 2026: weekend call November 6–8 and weekday call November 10 and 12
December 21–30, 2026: holiday call December 24–27
Additional weekday and weekend call coverage may be required as needed
