Position Overview
A premier pediatric hospital in Dayton, OH is seeking three (3) Board Certified or Board Eligible Pediatric Anesthesiologists to provide full-time locum tenens coverage starting November 2026 for FMLA coverage. The practice model features a mix of solo cases and CRNA supervision within a care team environment across a high-volume surgical setting.
Practice & Facility Details
Facility Profile: 14 Operating Rooms; 22 Anesthesiologists in practice; 70,000 annual ER volume; ACS Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center.
Case Volume: 50–60 surgical cases per day across the department (0 pain management cases).
Surgical Scope: Full array of pediatric subspecialties including neonatal surgery, pediatric surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, plastics, urology, dental, GI, and interventional radiology. (Excludes cardiac surgery, cath lab, and organ transplants).
Care Team Model: Combination of solo execution and CRNA supervision.
Anesthesia Carts: Anesthesia carts are prepared by facility staff (physicians are not responsible for setup).
Support Staff: Collegial care team consisting of RNs, Surgical Techs, PCAs, Surgeons, Proceduralists, and APPs.
Qualifications & Clinical Requirements
Education & Credentials
Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Anesthesiology [Required]
Fellowship: Successful completion of an accredited Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship [Required]
Licensure: Active, unrestricted Ohio State Medical License (IMLC not accepted) [Required]
Certifications: Active AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications [Required]
Background: Clean background with no malpractice history [Required]
Required Procedural Competencies
General Surgery: Neonatal, Pediatric, and Adult general surgical cases
Specialty Procedures: Thoracic (non-open heart), Complex Orthopedics, Neurosurgery
Critical Care: Ventilation Management
Preferred Procedural Competencies
Insertion of Arterial Lines
Evaluation and management of acute volume / blood pressure issues
Submission & Compliance Requirements
