Anesthesiologist needed in Richmond, VA

Anesthesiology opportunity available in Richmond, Virginia
Start Date: December 14, 2026
Assignment Length: 6 months
Schedule: 8- and 10-hour shifts beginning at 7:00 a.m. until cases are finished; no call
Additional Details:

Level I Trauma Center with a burn center and 30 operating rooms
Hospital bed size: 837
Case mix includes general surgery, vascular, orthopedic, OB, neuro, endoscopy, dental, and some transplant cases
No pediatric or ICU cases required
Support staff includes an administrative team, CRNAs, and other anesthesiologists
Anesthesiologists supervise CRNAs; locums providers will not supervise residents
Procedures include arterial lines and central lines
Must be comfortable managing complex and difficult airways, including fiber-optic equipment
Must be proficient with difficult IV access, arterial lines, and central lines
Must be able to work and lead in a fast-paced team environment
Must be able to ambulate and navigate long distances within the operative environment
EMR: EPIC

Licensure: IMLC accepted; licensing assistance available, with preference for IMLC candidates
Requirements: Board Certification required; minimum of 5 years of experience with no gaps in work history
Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
DEA: Required
Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 60–90 days
Travel: Local candidates will receive hotel and mileage reimbursement
Presentation Requirements: Two completed references, including each reference’s name, email address, and phone number, plus an NPDB self-query are required for presentation
