A busy medical center is seeking an anesthesiologist for locum tenens coverage.

About the clinician's workday

The schedule for this position requires availability at least four days per week, with five days preferred. Shifts are 10 or 12 hours long, from 7 AM to 5 PM, with some extending to 7 PM. There are no 8-hour shifts available, and the candidate must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary. The position includes in-house call at the regular rate. The types of cases involve a wide range of specialties, including general surgery, trauma, OB, epidurals, neurology (head and spine), cardiac, open heart, thoracic, vascular, orthopedic, ultrasound-guided block placements, ventilator management, and arterial line placements. The daily case distribution is approximately 35% general, 15% OB, 15% neuro, 10% cardiac, 10% thoracic, 10% complex vascular, and 15% complex orthopedic.
