National APP Week is an opportunity to shine a light on Advanced Practice Professions (APP) who are transforming the healthcare industry and impacting communities.

“My name is Cathy Roland and I am in my second assignment with LocumTenens.com. I have been an advanced practice nurse for 37 years and traveling is my bliss. I have seen and enjoyed so much! I have five children and nine grandchildren. My husband owns a commercial construction company and holds down the fort while I do what I love. My recruiter, Greyson, is amazing! I won’t look anywhere else!”
Karen Greene
“Hello, my name is Karen Greene, I am a family medicine locum and I work in Central New Hampshire. I live about an hour away so it is convenient enough to go home at night. I like the area because I enjoy hiking and outdoor sports with my dog – he is a German Shepherd. When it is rainy or gross outside, I enjoy making quilts, crocheting, or knitting things for my grandchildren. I love to travel all over the country to see them, that is why I love to be a locum. I try to improve care by offering psychiatric services to my family medicine patients as well. I will be sitting for the PMHNP boards in a month and love to help people get well and feel better. It makes me feel great inside when I see such a change on their follow up!”
Mark Prudente
“My name is Mark Prudente. I’m a CRNA and live in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania and work in Reading, Pennsylvania. I love to spend time with my wife and three daughters, go for runs in the Wissahickon and cook. Being a CRNA allows me to help people during some of the most vulnerable points in their lives. It affords me the opportunity to get to know my patient and make them comfortable in a short period of time.”
Katie Heinrich
“My name is Katie Heinrich. I currently live in Pittsburgh and practice as a nurse anesthetist at UPMC Passavant Hospital. I love to spend time with my two girls, ages one and four, and my husband - especially in Florida! I also enjoy running. My greatest accomplishment being qualifying for the Boston Marathon. I continuously strive to improve care in my area by keeping up-to-date on the latest evidence-based practices. I have a particular interest in regional anesthesia techniques and the latest developments in that growing area of patient care.”
Wendy Santiago
“Hi, my name is Wendy Santiago and I'm a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. I currently live and work in Beaufort County, South Carolina. I've lived here for the past 18 years and have been fortunate enough to work in a wide variety of settings throughout my nursing career. Ultimately I've discovered that my passion is in mental health, and I decided to go back to school and become a nurse practitioner specializing in this area. I currently work in a community mental health center where I provide services to a very diverse population and ultimately love it. I've discovered that this is what I was supposed to be doing all along.
During my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, which are two boys and my husband. (And a dog!) I work with LocumTenens.com and I'm very fortunate that they were able to find me a position in the area where I live.”
