Locum Cardiology opportunity available in Illinois
Start Date: November 2, 2026
Assignment Length: Ongoing until a permanent provider is found; anticipated duration is approximately 1 year
Schedule: Full-time coverage, Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week; clinic hours are 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. A Monday–Thursday schedule may be considered
Additional Details:

Combination of inpatient consults, outpatient clinic, and telephone call coverage
Time blocked into each clinic day for inpatient consults, typically averaging 1–3 consults
After-hours call is primarily telephonic and involves discussing potential admissions with the hospitalist
Call may include determining whether patients can be admitted and seen for consultation the following morning or require transfer
Call coverage will be required approximately one week or a portion of each week, with flexibility to adjust the burden after the initial rotations
Solo physician coverage with support from one APP two days per week and a Medical Assistant
General Cardiology practice managing patients with CAD, hypertension, and heart failure
Responsibilities include reading EKGs and echocardiograms and supervising stress testing
Adult patient population
EMR: EPIC

Licensure: Active Illinois license required
Requirements: Board Certification required
Certifications: BLS required
