Principle responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Provision of strengths-based and trauma-focused mental health services to children and non-offending family members
- Provide mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children referred for concerns of child maltreatment or other trauma. This may include using telehealth platforms to deliver care
- Provide case management for clients, including liaising with community partners such as law enforcement, the Department of Human Services and school personnel
- Maintain client records according to organizational, state, and federal guidelines, including billing information, client demographics, and outcomes across all platforms
- Participate in regularly scheduled clinical supervision and communicate with supervisor on clinical issues related to clients as needed
- Attend weekly Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings, provide consultation on case staffing when appropriate, and provide consulting services for MDT members on individual cases as requested.
- Represent ABC House counseling department and coordinate with other community agencies such as System of Care, YST, Regional CAC providers, etc.
- Manage policies, procedures, and protocols and supervise other therapists to ensure compliance
- Coordinate with other CACs for case consultation and lead consultation upon hiring of other therapists.
- Adheres to the National Children’s Alliance (NCA) standards.
Additional Duties:
- Provide oversight to Mental Health contractors and interns as assigned
- Contribute to the overall strategy and development of the mental health program
- Accurately track and manage counseling data
- Oversee administration of client and family surveys
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep programs, protocols and initiatives current and relevant
- Manage budget and determine necessary trainings/resources needed for department
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or other field that qualifies the candidate to be a licensed professional counselor, clinical social worker, psychologist, or marriage and family counselor in the state of Oregon
- Licensed professional counselor, licensed marriage and family counselor, licensed clinical social worker, or with an active plan to become licensed in the state of Oregon.
- Experience providing mental health care at the QMHP or QMHA level preferred (including internship and practicum experience) in an outpatient mental health facility, hospital, residential or day-treatment setting providing counseling services to children, adolescents and families, specifically with trauma-informed practices.
- Experience delivering trauma-focused treatment modalities to children, such as TF-CBT, EMDR or PCIT, or willingness to receive training in trauma focused treatments.
- Strong ability to develop rapport with non-offending family members and flexibility to meet their needs.
- Knowledge of child abuse issues and laws preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including demonstrated experience with electronic health records, word processing and data entry, Telemental-health experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team.

- Ability to pass criminal background and child abuse registry checks.
- Bilingual Spanish speaker preferred but not required.
