Schedule/Shifts Times: 8am to 8pm or 8 pm to 8am Sunday through Saturday
12 hour blocks, 7 on 7 off. (flexible)
Call Requirements: No
Patient Ages: All Ages
Types of Cases: Emergency triage, stabilization, initial treatment. In level 4 setting.
Support Staff: Urgent care staff attached to Emergency Room.
Scope of Work:
• 60 bed inpatient facility
• Level 4 trauma
• Approximately 30,000 patients a year
• 9 bed ER, Urgent care and EM are centralized together sharing support staff. Urgent care sees the acute care.
• Stabilization of trauma major/and minor (penetrating wounds, hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, significant blunt trauma, etc.)
• Must be able to see pediatric trauma major and minor (pediatric life support, adult cardiac life support, psychiatric emergencies such as suicide, and complex critical medical conditions. Septic shock, cardiopulmonary shock, end stage renal disease etc.
• Also required to be competent in advanced airway management including endotracheal intubation and rapid sequence intubation.
• Act as a first responder to codes.
• Will assist mid-levels in urgent care when needed.
• Treat acute psychiatric problems
Requirements:
• ABEM or AOBEM certified
• US Residency in EM
• No loss of licensure
• Enumerate on any Lawsuits or disciplines
• No lapse greater than 6 months leading up
• Valid unrestricted DEA
• Must be aware of social and cultural, among others when working with patient population.
• 3 years’ experience
• Must have CPR, BLS, ACLS, PALS
