28,000 Annual ED Visits
16% ED admission rate
14 EMS Units per day
Visa Eligible
Resources Medhost EDIS EMR
Dictation available in the hospital
18 hours/day of ED scribe coverage
ED writes bridge holding orders
ED responds to floor codes
ED was remodeled in 2007
Coverage includes:
Teleradiology (working toward in house 3 days/week)
Tele Interventional Radiology (working toward in house 3 days/week)
Pediatrics covered by FM physicians
Psychiatry – 25 bed adult psych unit
Anesthesiology – all CRNA team
Tele-Intensivists 24/7
Ultrasound
Hospitalist
General Surgery
Podiatry
Gastro
Cardiology (2 diagnostic and 1 interventional)
Tele Neuro 24/7
Neurology (5 Hemo Dialysis machines – IP only, no CRRT or Peritoneal)
Accredited Chest Pain Center
Certified Primary Stroke Center
Teaching Hospital – 3rd and 4th year Medical Students (BCOM), NP/PA students, RNs, etc
Requirements EM Physicians:
EM/FM/IM trained and boarded/board prepared
NM State License
NM State DEA
Active BLS, ATLS, ACLS, and PALS
Coverage Physicians:
EMPs: 12 hour shifts (36 hours of coverage)
EM APPs: 12 hour shift (12 hours or coverage)
