West Virginia GI Hospitalist Locums - 7 On / 7 Off + Strong Call Potential
Job description
Aya Locums is working with a West Virginia client seeking a Board Certified Gastroenterologist for an ongoing GI Hospitalist assignment beginning in January 2027.
The coverage is built around a 7-on / 7-off model, although physicians have also elected to work two consecutive weeks. Historically, much of the coverage has consisted of approximately 8-hour daytime shifts followed by night call and callback coverage. The exact overnight structure can vary depending on how the coverage is arranged.
This is a hospital-based General GI Hospitalist need with substantial clinical support. The GI service has 9 APPs along with RNs, LPNs and MAs across three locations. Two APPs have advanced GI training and assist with preliminary patient evaluations. Cerner is the EMR.
Board Certification in Gastroenterology, BLS, ACLS and DEA are required. An active West Virginia license is not required to start the conversation. The client is open to licensing and will consider physicians with an active IMLC LOQ as well as those who qualify for the West Virginia temporary license. Credentialing is estimated at 60+ days.
The combination of scheduled coverage, night call and separately compensated callback creates meaningful earning potential. If the clinical scope and schedule make sense for you, tell me what compensation would make the assignment worthwhile and I will work to make that happen.
If this one is not right, I would still welcome the conversation. Tell me what would be - location, schedule, clinical mix and compensation. I’d rather learn what you actually want and go to work for you than ask you to filter opportunities for me.
- 7-on / 7-off GI Hospitalist schedule with longer blocks available
- Strong call and callback earning potential
- Open to West Virginia licensing - IMLC and temp-license candidates considered
