Overview:
General gastroenterology hospital coverage in Charleston, WV, typically day shifts with night call coverage, 7-on / 7-off pattern available, 6 months.

Schedule & Coverage:
Specialty: Gastroenterology — General. Start Date: Jan 4th, 2027. Contract Length: 6 months. Amount of coverage: 7 on and 7 off is fine, although some have elected to be here for two weeks consecutively. Most arrangements in the past have been 8-hour shifts with call-back coverage. Some night coverage might be part of arrangement; however, they are good about holding everything possible until next morning. Typically, shift is day with night call coverage. Title: MD. On Call: Yes.

Work Details:
Support staff: 9 APPs and several RNs that work as support staff. Also on staff many LPNs and MAs across 3 GI locations. Patient population/age: Average patient age is 58. Department description: 9 APPs and several RNs as support staff, many LPNs and MAs across 3 GI locations. Two APPs are trained in advanced GI and do a preliminary evaluation of patients before scheduling with the advanced physician. EMR: Cerner. Special procedures: General GI. Practice Setting: Hospital.

Requirements:
Board Certification: Required. State license required: Required — will look at IMLC candidates or candidates that qualify for the WV temp license. DEA: Required. Certifications required: BLS, ACLS. Minimum experience required: Open.

Credentialing:
60+ days. Willing to License: YES.

Compensation & Travel:
OT: 1.2x normal rate after 40 hours per week. Holiday: 1.2x normal rate — New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day [00:00–23:59].
