Advanced Practitioners - Hospitalist/Emergency
Job Details:
- Join a collaborative, patient-centered team as a Pediatric Hospitalist/Newborn Nursery provider
- Open to Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioners (APRN) and Physician Assistants (PA)
- 100% inpatient setting focused on Pediatric Hospitalist and Newborn Nursery care
- Round on newborns and attend both scheduled and emergent c-sections
- Manage phototherapy for newborns requiring treatment
- Occasionally perform pediatric consults to the ED or inpatient floors
- Stabilize newborns for transport as needed
- 24/7 neonatologist support available
- 24-hour shifts with full-time or part-time scheduling options available
- No call required
- Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial treatment plans
- Develop plans for further evaluation of health needs in collaboration with physician(s) and care team members, including referrals to specialists
- Requires an unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)
- Minimum 1+ years of experience in an inpatient pediatrics, hospitalist, or newborn nursery setting required
- Training as a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant required
