Nocturnist APP opportunity available in Illinois
Assignment Length: 1 year
Schedule: 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m., 7 days on/7 days off
Additional Details:

Seven consecutive night shifts followed by seven days off
Approximately 10 admissions per shift
Adult inpatient general medicine, tele/stepdown, and critical care coverage
Nocturnist will admit ICU patients overnight; Sound Telemedicine will manage them after admission and consultation are initiated
Responsibilities include admission and discharge documentation, rapid response participation, ICU admissions, and coordination of care with subspecialists
Patient population includes sepsis, CHF, COPD, and other adult hospitalist medicine cases
Support includes an MD, APP/NP, RNs, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, emergency medicine physicians, intensivists, and anesthesia
EPIC EMR
Orientation may be completed the afternoon before the start date and includes EHR review, access confirmation, hospital tour, and shadowing with the current nocturnist
Case logs required

Licensure: Active Illinois license required at the time of submission; the facility will not wait for licensure
Requirements: Internal Medicine or Family Medicine background; 1 year of experience preferred
Certifications: BLS required
DEA: Required
Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 3 weeks; emergency credentialing may be completed within 1 week
