About the clinician's workday

The Site Medical Director will provide comprehensive leadership for the hospital medicine department while maintaining clinical responsibilities during day shifts from Monday through Friday. The clinician must demonstrate recent leadership experience at a Level 1 or 2 facility and will work closely with scheduling teams to manage physician coverage and address open shifts. Responsibilities include addressing performance issues and conflict resolution among healthcare professionals, participating in the interview and recruitment process for full-time hospitalist positions, and partnering with facility leadership including the Chief Medical Officer to meet budget objectives and maintain quality standards including length of stay optimization, patient satisfaction metrics, and physician retention targets.
