Hospitalist Locum Opening in Missouri

Job description

Hospitalist opportunity available in Missouri
Assignment Length: 3 months with ongoing potential
Start Date: As soon as possible
Schedule: Day shifts, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.; full-time or consistent part-time availability will be considered

Additional Details:

Daytime rounding with an average of 17 patients per day
Generally 2 call days every 7 days
Onsite until 5:00 p.m. on non-call days; providers may cross-cover their own patients remotely from 5:00–7:00 p.m.
On call days, provider must remain onsite until 7:00 p.m.
Triage call from 4:00–7:00 p.m., including phone calls from the transfer center
Admitting support call, assisting the admitting APP and signing off on admissions
May occasionally take an admission between 4:00–5:30 p.m.
Patient population includes adults age 16 and older through geriatrics
Closed ICU; no ICU management required
No Obstetrics or Pediatrics
Must be comfortable caring for medically complex patients
Rarely requires transferring patients out
No required procedures or code coverage
APP support and several additional Hospitalists available
220-bed hospital
Epic EMR
Travel and lodging provided; local candidates who can drive in on short notice are strongly preferred

Licensure: Active Missouri medical license required; IMLC candidates will be considered
Requirements: Board certification required; at least one year of Hospitalist experience preferred. New graduates may be considered if they can work independently and hit the ground running.
Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
DEA: Required
Credentialing: Approximately 60–90 days
