Opportunity Overview
Gibson Cancer Center, affiliated with UNC Southeastern Health, is seeking a Board-Certified Medical Oncologist for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity. This role supports an outpatient Hematology/Oncology clinic facing a recruitment gap for multiple physician roles.

This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver compassionate cancer care while joining a dedicated team of providers in a collegial, community-based setting.

Practice Details
Schedule: 4–5 weekdays/week | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Patient Volume: 12–14 patients/day/provider (new + return patients)

Call: Possible inpatient call – open to candidate preference (please indicate interest)

Duties:

Outpatient clinic visits

Patient management

Shared oversight of infusion center patients

Backup APP supervision (preferred but not required)

Bone Marrow Biopsies preferred but not mandatory

Team Structure: 1–4 providers on shift, 1 RN per provider

EMR: Epic (UNC Health instance)

Setting: Community-based cancer center, outpatient focus

Candidate Requirements
Board Certification: Required in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology

Licensure: Active NC license or IMLC eligibility

Experience: Hematology/Oncology outpatient clinic experience preferred
