About the clinician's workday
The schedule follows a 7 on/7 off model, with shifts running from 7 AM to 7 PM, Monday through Sunday. The provider can expect to see 20-22 patients per day, with responsibilities including new consults and addressing neurology inpatient needs, such as stroke alerts and rounding. During weekdays, two Neurohospitalists typically handle the volume, while on weekends, one Neurohospitalist covers the lower patient load. There is no APP supervision required, and the facility uses Cerner for its EMR system. Credentialing typically takes 60-90 days, but due to the immediate need, the provider may receive date-specific privileges while full credentials are processed, assuming timely completion of all paperwork.
