Pediatric CICU/PICU APP (CPNP-AC or PA-C) – 1-Year Locum | Cardiac ICU Focus | 24/7 Coverage
Job description
A leading pediatric cardiac intensive care unit in TX is seeking experienced CPNP-ACs or PA-Cs for a long-term locum (1-year preferred), but can be less; assignment providing 24/7 advanced care to critically ill pediatric patients. This is a high-acuity cardiac ICU that requires a minimum of 2–3 years of pediatric acute care experience. New grads will not be considered.
APPs should be comfortable managing ECMO, CRRT, and cardiac critical care, with expected shift commitment of 10–14 shifts/month (ideally a 4/3 or 3/4 rotation without stretches >5 days). The unit is transitioning to 24/7 coverage, so night shifts will be required. No on-call, transport, or extended shift stretches.

Case load: 1:5–8 (days), slightly higher overnight

- Cardiac ICU Focus: Strongly prefer APPs with pediatric cardiac experience, ECMO, and CRRT
- Schedule Flexibility: 10–14 shifts/month, 6a–7p or 6a–8p, with upcoming move to 24/7 coverage including nights
- High-Acuity Pediatric Patients: Neonates through young adults (up to age 21), with 1:5–8 daytime ratios in a 25-bed cardiac unit
