Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Provider

Location: South Carolina
Setting: Inpatient State Psychiatric Hospital

Position Overview

An inpatient state psychiatric hospital in Columbia, SC is seeking a Child & Adolescent psychiatric provider to join a collaborative, multidisciplinary care team. This role requires flexibility, strong teamwork, and prior experience treating pediatric populations in psychiatric settings.

Psychiatrist (MD/DO) or

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

Unit Details

32-bed Child & Adolescent unit

Patient care shared among 3 providers

Youngest patient age: 5

Shorter length of stay compared to forensic units

Clinical Responsibilities

Conduct daily inpatient rounds

Perform psychiatric evaluations and medication management

Collaborate closely with nursing, therapy, and support staff

Maintain flexibility in a fast-paced inpatient environment

Requirements

Prior Child & Adolescent psychiatric experience required

Must have previously worked with C&A populations

Inpatient experience preferred

Strong collaborative and adaptable approach
