OpportunityPsychiatrist - Medical Director
- Full-time, employed position
- Hybrid schedule with required on-site patient visits at least monthly
- Monday through Friday, 8-hour workdays
- No weekends
- HPSA Score: 16
The Medical Director will provide clinical leadership for the psychiatric service line while overseeing quality of care, regulatory compliance, and program development initiatives. As a key member of the multidisciplinary behavioral health team, the Medical Director will support strategic planning, program growth, and clinical excellence.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Providing psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, and medication management
- Supervising Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners
- Supporting quality improvement initiatives and clinical best practices
- Assisting with program development and organizational growth
- Participating in leadership and administrative activities
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary treatment teams to ensure patient-centered care
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
- Active or eligible for New York medical licensure
- Active DEA registration or ability to obtain
- Minimum of five years of behavioral health experience preferred
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Experience working within outpatient behavioral health settings
- Proficiency with electronic health records and standard office software
- Successful completion of background check and Medicaid exclusion screening
