Opportunity

Psychiatrist - Medical Director

  • Full-time, employed position
  • Hybrid schedule with required on-site patient visits at least monthly
  • Monday through Friday, 8-hour workdays
  • No weekends
  • HPSA Score: 16

The Medical Director will provide clinical leadership for the psychiatric service line while overseeing quality of care, regulatory compliance, and program development initiatives. As a key member of the multidisciplinary behavioral health team, the Medical Director will support strategic planning, program growth, and clinical excellence.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Providing psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, and medication management
  • Supervising Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners
  • Supporting quality improvement initiatives and clinical best practices
  • Assisting with program development and organizational growth
  • Participating in leadership and administrative activities
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary treatment teams to ensure patient-centered care
Requirements
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Active or eligible for New York medical licensure
  • Active DEA registration or ability to obtain
  • Minimum of five years of behavioral health experience preferred
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience working within outpatient behavioral health settings
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and standard office software
  • Successful completion of background check and Medicaid exclusion screening
